MONTAGE PALMETTO BLUFF TO HOST SECOND ANNUAL MAY RIVER MUSIC FESTIVAL

The festival takes place September 3-4, 2021 with performances by popular music artists Gin Blossoms, Mitchell Tenpenny, Lakeview and SUSTO

Nestled in a 20,000-acre nature preserve between Hilton Head Island and Savannah, Montage Palmetto Bluff announces it will host the second annual May River Music Festival, a weekend event dedicated to bringing singers and songwriters together along the banks of the Lowcountry’s majestic May River. The music festival will take place from September 3-4, 2021 with live performances by renowned artists on Friday and Saturday night.

The May River Music Festival lineup kicks off Friday, September 3 on the Village Green with headliner Gin Blossoms — the multi-platinum, alternative rock band best known for their chiming guitars, introspective lyrics and catchy pop-rock melodies — will perform an unforgettable setlist of crowd-pleasing hits, including “Hey Jealousy”, “Found Out About You” and “Til I Hear It From You”, to name a few. Opening for Gin Blossoms is indie rock band SUSTO taking the stage at 7:30 p.m. Originally from Charleston, SUSTO presents a blend of music inspired by its Cuban roots to produce a rock-rooted sound.

The festival continues on Saturday, September 4 at the Village Green with headliner Mitchell Tenpenny, country pop singer and songwriter, taking the stage at 8:30 p.m. Best known for his hit song “Drunk Me” and co-written melody “If the Boot Fits”, the Nashville-rooted artist closes out the weekend festival. Performances by country music duo Lakeview will start the night at 7:30 p.m. Lakeview’s Jesse Denaro and Luke Healy make up the country soul, rock scope, pop ambition duo with a refreshingly unique sound. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday night, and will feature a variety of food and beverage options for festival-goers to enjoy.

The May River Music Festival is open to guests at Montage Palmetto Bluff and residents of Palmetto Bluff.  Special room rates are available to ticket holders. Tickets for the May River Music Festival are $200 for the full weekend and are available for purchase at www.mayrivermusicfestival.com. All tickets are general admission and subject to a convenience charge. Attendees must be 21 years or older. Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged, however, no umbrellas, tents or outside food and beverage will be allowed. Event is rain or shine.
