Bluffton is going to have a new park located near the intersection of May River Road and Okatie Highway. Construction on the new park (Phase 1) is projected to start in the summer of 2023. Phase 2 is expected to start in July 2024. The new park will serve as Bluffton’s Welcome Center for travelers coming into Bluffton from the Savannah, GA, area, showcasing an extensive event rental space, public trails, playground, picnic shelters, restrooms, and an area for Food Trucks. Over 37 acres, this park will be roughly the same size as Forsyth Park in Savannah.

Located 1.7 miles from New Riverside Barn Park, heading towards Savannah on your left, you’ll discover the New River Linear Trail. This trail is 5.2 miles long and offers a unique view of the wetlands surrounding this area. Make sure you pack plenty of water and bring bug spray. A majority of the trail is in direct sunlight!
