The Heyward House

Welcome to Historic Bluffton! Begin your visit here at The Heyward House, official Welcome Center for the town of Bluffton. Tour our House Museum, built by slaves in 1841; find maps and brochures for area businesses, and get a taste of the culture and history of our fair town. The Heyward House Museum and Welcome Center is owned and operated by the Bluffton Historical Preservation Society, a non-profit, 501-(C)-3 corporation, dedicated to the preservation of the culture and history of Bluffton.

Guided tours of the historic house museum and grounds are available Monday- Friday from 10 am – 4 pm and Saturday’s from 10 am – 3 pm. Reservations are not required for house museum tours unless you have a group of 10 or more. Tours last approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour and are offered as visitors arrive unless previously scheduled.

Children under 10: Free
BHPS Members: Free

The Heyward House is the Official Welcome Center for the Town of Bluffton. There is no charge to visit the Heyward House, where you can pick up free maps, information, local menus, and more. Prices apply only to tours.
