Sidewalk around Park

1. The Church of the Cross

The Church of The Cross lies at the end of historic Calhoun Street in Old Town Bluffton. Sitting on the bluff overlooking the May River, The Church of the Cross holds many stories for its visitors. From the Civil War to its kerosene-soaked pine floors to the unknown architect who designed the church to bees (yes, bees that make honey) making the exterior church walls their home, there are a lot of fun and interesting facts that make this stop memorable. We recommend going to the church when a volunteer is onsite (typically normal operating hours).

If we had to select one attraction not to miss, we recommend Wright Family Park, located across from the Church of the Cross at the end of Calhoun Street. It’s a great spot to enjoy time watching boats passing by on the May River.
