What are the top tourist attractions in Bluffton SC?
Bluffton is known for its beautiful scenery and relaxed atmosphere, making it a great place to visit. Some top tourist attractions include the May River and the Bluffton Farmers Market, which offer locally grown produce and handmade goods. Other popular sights include the Promenade, the Old Town Dispensary, Bluffton Oyster Factory Park, and the Church of the Cross. Below you’ll find our top 5 tourist attractions!
1. The Church of the Cross
The Church of The Cross lies at the end of historic Calhoun Street in Old Town Bluffton. Sitting on the bluff overlooking the May River, The Church of the Cross holds many stories for its visitors. From the Civil War to its kerosene-soaked pine floors to the unknown architect who designed the church to bees (yes, bees that make honey) making the exterior church walls their home, there are a lot of fun and interesting facts that make this stop memorable. We recommend going to the church when a volunteer is onsite (typically normal operating hours).
If we had to select one attraction not to miss, we recommend Wright Family Park, located across from the Church of the Cross at the end of Calhoun Street. It’s a great spot to enjoy time watching boats passing by on the May River.
