Red Stripes Caribbean Cuisine and Lounge are truly one of a kind, serving authentic native dishes and hosting popular events known far beyond the limits of Bluffton. Owners, Ezron and Lakesha have been serving Caribbean island vibes since May 2012. Whether you are new to traditional Caribbean food or a seasoned veteran, you’re sure to come back for another round!
Ezron, originally from Jamaica, alongside Lakesha who is a Native Islander from Daufuskie Island both earned their stripes leveraging their experience with the likes of Sandals Resorts, Country Clubs like Sea Pines, Hampton Lake and Hampton Hall, and Palmetto Bluff, an Auberge Resort. Their menu exhibits mostly Jamaica cuisine, the famous Jerk Chicken, curried dishes, and items infused with some Cuban heritage derived from Ezron’s Cuban Grandmother. You will also see some Gullah culinary goodies on the menu such as Chicken and Waffles, Devil Crabs, and Sweet Potato Bread Pudding. For those of you with dietary restrictions, they offer a bountiful vegan selection on their menu which is equally as unique and flavorful.
Perhaps the best thing about this joint is the hospitality provided by the owners. Come in for an incredible meal but stay for live music, great conversation, and stories, or game a pool. Everyone leaves feeling like part of the family. Join Ezron and Lakesha for one of their many events. They host “Marley Mondays” every last Monday of the month, beginning April 24th, 2020, where you can kick back, eat, drink, and listen to Reggae all night long on the patio complete with a fireplace and bags! You’ll feel like you’re living the island life sipping on one of Lakesha’s exotic drinks while swaying to some feel-good tunes.
