Operation Patriots FOB (OPFOB) is hosting a benefit concert in support of its mission to help combat veterans on April 13th at OPFOB. The headliner will be country music star Chris Janson, along with special guests Parmalee, US Navy Veteran Jared Ashley, and US Army Veteran and Purple Heart Recipient Scotty Hasting. Operation Patriots FOB (OPFOB), exists on a 268-acre recreational property in Ridgeland, SC where we host veterans, active duty, first responders and their families. Our mission is to create and foster positive experiences for these local heroes by connecting through outdoor and recreational activities. We create an alliance through peer engagement in a comfortable and relaxed environment. These various forms of recreation, along with a newfound camaraderie, have been proven ways of helping our veterans deal with PTSD and other demons they may be facing from the scars of battle. We offer hunting, fishing, sporting clays, target range, trail riding, etc… and all of this is offered FREE to the veterans and their families. Quite simply, we are passionate about helping reduce the alarming rate of veteran suicides in our local area. We have lost more Iraq and Afghanistan veterans to suicide than we did on those battlefields. On average we are losing 22 veterans a day to suicide, or one every 65 minutes, every day.
