Fat Patties is known of its craft beers (Salt Marsh Brewing), handcrafted burgers, and homemade ice cream. A hard-working man and one who believes practice makes perfect, owner Nick Borreggine opened the Old Town Bluffton location in 2015 (Nick has a place in Beaufort, too).
Let’s talk about Fat Patties’ hamburgers. They offer creative burger concoctions with the option of 6 different patties: Grass Feed Beef, 1/2 and 1/2 (Ground Beef and Ground Bacon), Wild American Shrimp, Turkey, Free Range Chicken or a Vegetarian Black Bean Pattie served on our homemade buttery buns. The top requested burgers year after year are the “Who’s Your Pattie?” and the “Virginia V.”
The “Who’s Your Pattie?” is masterfully designed with smoked cheddar cheese, pulled pork, cider BBQ, applewood bacon, pickles, and coleslaw. A combination of flavors that are robust and spritely at the same time. Paired with one of your favorite craft beers, you’re set!
The “Virginia V” is made up of pimento cheese, thick cut bacon, slaw and garlic mayo. If you’re a fan of pimento cheese, you’ll be a happy camper with the selection of this mouth-watering burger.

Fat Patties is truly a kid-friendly place. With homemade ice cream and a play area outside, you can relax and enjoy your meal with family and friends while the kids play. If you’re looking for a quick bite to cool down the kids, they have a walk-up window for ordering ice cream located by the front door. Come by car or golf cart! You’ll find golf cart parking behind the restaurant and if the lot is full, there’s plenty of parking on the street in front of Fat Patties on Bluffton Road.
